About the Producer
Ramon Dominguez’s is from a traditional coffee growing family and at one point, his father produced over 2,000 bags on their farm. Once his father sadly passed away however, the farm and business became more difficult to manage, with Roya and unstable global coffee prices, things didn’t look good. But in 2015, Ramon’s son decided to try again with the family farm La Chatera in the village of El Planon. Their passion for coffee and love of the land motivated their decision.
They began by attempting to produce a small amount of specialty coffee among the other products grown on the farm, which include plantain, avocados, oranges, bananas and more. The coffee is the work of this father-son duo’s hard work and dedication to continuing the family's coffee story.
Today, they hope to keep increasing quality to one day have a long-term buyer for the production, along with their short-term goals of building larger solar dryers and planting more coffee trees.
