About the Producer

Jhonry has loved working with coffee since he was little, helping his father in the fields. In 2015, his father gifted him a small plot of land where he began producing conventional coffee. In 2021, Jhonry decided to do some tests to see if it was possible for him to produce specialty coffee, which results in some good samples. And with motivation from his family and neighbourhood, he switched shortly after from producing conventional lots, to speciality microlots.

Jhonry Leiva’s farm, Los Robles, where this coffee is produced, is located 1,500 metres above sea level in the village of El Dorado. Across the 1.4 hectare farm, he plants half the land with Pacas, and the other half with Parainema varietals.

This natural processed coffee is harvested by hand and swiftly taken to water tanks to be floated, resulting in the removable of defected cherries. Next the parchment is taken and put inside a parabolic dryer for approximately 20 days, during which it is sorted by hand to remove defects.
