Continuing our 'Beyond Green' program, LCM is proud to announce that our Australian and New Zealand samples will now be packed in 100% compostable pouches, and our United Kingdom samples will be delivered in a fully recyclable pouch.
So what's in the bag? In Australia, we have utilised Grounded Packaging's "Plantcell" home compostable laminate to create a pouch that is both industrial and home compostable, has a direct impact on fossil fuel and carbon reduction, uses renewable materials, and is printed with non-toxic inks. Plantcell technology uses a compostable laminate, with a high barrier to protect from oxygen and moisture, keeping our green samples fresh. This laminate is made of up to 90% bio-based plants, breaking down naturally without leaving harmful microplastics.

The Australian compostable pouch addresses three key environmental challenges: fossil fuel reduction, carbon emissions, and ocean health. With this move, LCM has entirely removed fossil fuels from the pouch production process, prevented 49,184kg of carbon dioxide entering the atmosphere, and 1,435kg of carbon dioxide entering our oceans.
For our customers across the pond in the UK, we have gone to Packiro in Germany, to use their Transparent Toni packaging that consists of a single mono-plastic. Transparent Toni's material design has been officially approved by the environmental service provider "Interseroh", and awarded the "Made for Recycling" seal. Displaying this seal on our packaging allows our customers to recognise the packaging's sustainability status at first glance.
At LCM, we’re committed to making green truly green. Although it's a process, we will continue to understand our impact, and learn how to do better. All updates on our sustainable journey can be found on our 'Beyond Green' page.
