Mexico SHG El Venado Nayarit
Mandarin-Orange, Apricot, Dried Fig
This coffee is grown in Nayarit, which is in the northeast side of Mexico, making it the northernmost coffee grown in the Americas. Nayarit means the son of the god that lies between the sky and the sun. It was named as such by a famous indigenous Cora leader that founded the Huacica kingdom, which resisted the Spanish conquest for almost 200 years.
El Venado is a washed blend of Catuai, Caturra, Bourbon and Geisha varietals, harvested from 15 small producers located in different regions in Tepic, such as El Venado, Cuarenteño and others. These regions are known due to their low production yields, but exceptional coffee.
